Some people can bus and couchsurf around Europe and spend 5 grand in 3 or more months. The Price is totally dependant on how you want to travel. the Championsleague Semi-Final and paragliding in Switzerland were both pricey but were well worth it. We also found pretty cheap round trip flights ($750) and used a eurail pass to get around. We also slept in cheaper hostels or apartments and sometimes even in train stations. We were also pretty price conscious the whole trip sometimes skipping meals or cooking our own food.
However, we were travelling at a time when the Euro was relatively weak due to the economic crisis in Greece (April-June 2015).
